Special K&L Dinners and Tastings
- January 16: Wines of Montalcino Tasting in Hollywood, Friday Jan 16th 2009, 5:30-7:30pm - K&L Italian Wine Buyer Greg St. Clair will host this special Friday night tasting seminar. Greg is one of the foremost experts on the wines of Montalcino. He will take us on a journey that will explore Italy's most prestigious wine producing region where we will taste several different top name producers as well as some of K&L's direct imports. - January 18: Fete du Bordeaux, Sunday, January 18, 2009 in San Francisco - The annual Fête du Bordeaux will be held at One Ferry Plaza (formerly World Trade Center) in San Francisco on Sunday, January 18th, 2009. Jean Guillaume Prats of Cos d'Estournel, Jean Charles Cazes of Lynch-Bages, and Lilian Barton-Satorius of Langoa- and Léoville-Barton will join us as we introduce the fine 2006 Vintage Marbuzet, Ormes de Pez, Langoa-Barton, Lynch-Bages, Léoville-Barton and Cos d'Estournel. The 2003 and 1996 Lynch-Bages, 2000 Cos d' Estournel, 1999 Langoa-Barton, 1995 Léoville-Barton and the 2002 Suduiraut will also be featured. The event will begin at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. This event sells out every year, so don't wait to buy your tickets. $195 plus tax. Guests who are unable to attend must be cancel by Wednesday, January 14th in order to receive a full refund. K&L will send an e-mail confirmation one week prior to event. - January 30: Opus One Vertical Tasting in Hollywood, Friday Jan 30th 2009, 5:30-7:30pm - This is a unique opportunity to taste a complete vertical of seven vintages of Opus One spanning from 1999 through 2005, the most recent release. All the wines have been stored impeccably and are just bursting to show their stuff. For good measure we are also including the 1985 Opus One, to demonstrate the longevity of the wine and its Bordeaux-like ability to age gracefully. All tastings are from noon to 3 P.M. in San Francisco, 1 to 4 P.M. in Redwood City and 3 to 6 P.M. in Hollywood.
- January 10: Pinot Noir: Old World vs. New World - Hollywood - New Burgundy arrivals versus California, Oregon and New Zealand.
- January 10: New arrivals from Burgundy in San Francisco and Redwood City. - A focus upon new red Burgundy releases with a few whites as well. $20.00 per flight.
- January 17: Bordeaux! - Red Bordeaux from the 2005 and newly arrived 2006 vintages. Only reds this month! $20.00 per flight.
- January 17: Wines of Italy - Hollywood - Our weekend of Italian wines concludes with a look at some of our Italian wine buyer Greg St. Clair's newest arrivals.
- January 24: Bordeaux vs. California Cabernet - Hollywood - New Bordeaux arrivals versus new California arrivals. It should be one heck of a throwdown!!

- January 8: Wines of Eric Solomon Imports - Join us as we taste through the portfolio of one of Spain and France's top importers of value wines. Famous for such labels as Las Rocas and Domaine La Garrigue Cotes du Rhone, we will taste a smattering of new arrivals and favorites. Only $10.
- January 15: Italy - Kick off our Italian Appreciation Weekend as we taste through some of Tuscany's best wineries. Fattoria Felsina will be one of the wineries featured. Only $10
- January 22: New California Arrivals - Kenny Crowder from the Estates Group of Young's Market will be here to pour several new arrivals from his portfolio. Only $10.
- January 29: Wine 101 - Join us for our first wine education class here in Hollywood. This tasting will focus on the basics of wine tasting. Each Wine 101 class will focus on the world's major grape varieties and the differences between New World and Old World styles. No prior wine tasting experience is necessary. Only $10.

- January 9: Going Green. - A tasting of distinctive natural and organic wines from classic regions. Discover how sustainable farming and green practices in the vineyard and winery result in truly expressive, unique wines! 2003 Louis Brison Vintage Brut (Champagne), 2006 do Ferreiro Albarino Rias Baixas (Spain), 2006 Savigny-les-Beaune Aux Fourches Maison Champy (Burgundy), 2007 Vin de Pays des Bouches du Rhone Merlot Domaine de l'Attilon (Regional France), 2000 du Moulin a Vent, Graves (Bordeaux), 2005 Two Wives Red (Napa). Cost of tasting: $5.
- February 6: Lewis Cellars with Randy Lewis - Join us in welcoming Randy Lewis of Lewis Cellars and taste through current vintages as well as new spring releases of their world class wines! Wines tbd. In 1992, Debbie and Randy Lewis established a small family winery with their son Dennis in Napa Valley. Total production is approximately 9,000 cases annually of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot and Syrah.
